Reason #5,271….

…why I am a better person since having a baby.

I have been blessed with a beautiful child.  I mean, I’m not biased or anything, but she is gorgeous! :)   I certainly, think so.   Today, we were in the big box department store doing a bit of grocery shopping for tomorrow.  While I am not cooking dinner, I have been asked to bring dessert.  To make a long story short, baby girl rode in the front of the basket on this trip.  She has a bad habit of standing up in the child seat, so occasionally, she ends up in the big part, like today.

Here we are, rolling down the aisles of the store, and my daughter is standing in the front of the cart, waving to everyone as if she was on a parade route!  How glorious it must feel to know that everyone in the world’s sole purpose is to look, smile, and wave back, at you!  And let me just tell you, it is most definately a glorious feeling to see everyone doing just that!  I love it when a sweet old man, or a person that you would never expect to stop, turns around and smiles at my baby.  She lights up on the inside so brightly that it shines all through.  And the amazing part is, the strangers do the same thing!  All the while, I am beaming with the knowledge that someone has made baby girl’s day–and she has made theirs.  Just watching this exchange makes me a better person.  I left the store today not with my usual scowl of frustration, but with a big, cheery, smile.  All thanks to my beautiful daughter, who continues to make me a better person.
