WFMW: Speed Clean the Washing Machine

wfmw-banner.jpg

So, I had a little ephiphany a few weeks ago. While doing a load of laundry, I commented to myself that it was time to clean the front of my front-loading washer. It is in our laundry room, which happens to be the room that my dogs use for eating and playing.

Here’s the deal. I was washing a load of my dishtowels, and I noticed this grime. I took my Spray’n'Wash Bottle and sprayed some on the dirt and wiped it off with an already dirty towel. I then threw the towel back in the washer! So my tip is, use your spray spot remover to “quick clean” your washing machine! You don’t have to dirty up any extra towels, and it’s quick because you already have your spot remover handy. That’s what works for me! What works for you?

  1. Hehe, I’ve never used the spray’nwash as the cleaner, but I’ve wiped down the washer/dryer with towels or hubby’s dirty shirt ;)

  2. I have a bottle of 409 over my washer/dryer (it’s my stain remover of choice) and I do the same thing…my washer is in the back hallway and all sorts of “things” get put on the top of it. I do the same thing when I run a load of towels!

  3. Great idea, and I sure plan to use it! Mine’s getting kinda grimy between lint and fabric softener, LOL!

  4. good tip. i usually use a piece of clothing that is going to be washed. also, i throw in the cap that we use to measure the liquid detergent when it gets icky. happy WFMW!
