WFMW: Temporary Dresser

This week, I am in our new “home” city in Michigan.  I have been working on Dr. D’s apartment for the past few hours, and man do I need a bloggy break.  While we were in the process of packing, we decided that we would only take a few items of furniture for his temporary apartment.  We packed a club chair and ottoman, a folding table that can be used as a dining table or a desk, a singular oak dining chair, a floor reading lamp, and various other items.  I decided at the last minute to throw in a Hanging Shoe Organizer, and oh boy, am I glad that I did!

I stuck this shoe organizer in his closet to help him organize all of his little clothing (like socks, undies, pj’s and even a few of my things that I will be keeping here for when I come visit).  At the bottom, I was able to store ALL THREE PAIR of his shoes.

This is a nice solution for us, since we don’t have the time or money to go and buy an extra chest of drawers for the temporary apartment.  As soon as we sell the house in Arkansas, we will move all of our furniture to Michigan, so Dr. D can finally have his own “real” dresser back.

This is what is working for us!  What works for you?  Check out Shannon’s site for more ideas!

(Check back later this week for the lowdown on our day today.  It has been a doozie!!)

  5. What a fantastic idea! We’re in the middle of a clean-and-organize project here and my daughter doesn’t have a dresser. I bet the shoe organizer solution would work great.
