The Boys

GSD and BCX

Yes, I refer to my dogs as if they were people. I’m a sucker for practically anything that they do, even though they are not well behaved! There is a German Shepherd and a Border Collie Mix.

Close UpThe GSD came from a hobby breeder in NWAR, and I love him dearly. He is almost 5 years old, and he comes from German Conformation lines. His grandfather was a 2 time World Sieger Champion. He looks very similar to him. We have taken him to multiple “obedience” classes, though none have worked. He does not really like being around other dogs, excpet his brother, the Border Mix. I don’t mind, though. He’s my baby. My family’s first dog. He will always have a special place in our lives.

Close UpThe Border Collie Mix is actually a tad bit older than the GSD. He “turned 5″ in October, or so we say. He is a rescue dog, so we have no idea when is actual birthday is. We made one up for him! He is gentle and loving. We have also taken him to classes, but he got to go to the fun ones. Agility is what he was good at, and it was a blast to do. If I ever have another high-energy breed like this, I will definately be involved in Agility or Flyball. They seem to really enjoy the activity. He is also a social butterfly, and because of that, we occasionally take him to a “dog spa” where he can get a bath, as well as play with the other dogs.

They both sleep wherever they want, including in our bed. No, we haven’t spoiled them at all!

  1. I have a place in my heart for German Shepherds. We had them throughout my entire childhood. All but one were perfect dogs. One was a persnickety crabby thing. Your dogs are beautiful (and yes, spoiled!)
